The Tremont Medical Center staff provides urgent care services in a caring atmosphere. We take pride in the work we do and treat each person as we want to be treated. We are honored that most of our patients come to us by "word of mouth" recommendations from existing patients and community doctors.

If you are having a life threatening emergency, such as severe chest pain, stroke or major injuries, call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital Emergency Department.

At Tremont Medical Center we believe that the practice of medicine is an art as well as a science and we work to blend the art of medicine with current scientific knowledge.

Each member of the Tremont staff has a personal commitment to service and excellence. Our mission is to treat people with respect, blending our collective experiences to produce the best outcome for our patients in a cost effective and timely manner. We strive to diagnose, care for, and follow our patients’ medical conditions in a compassionate and caring manner, treating each person as an extension of the Tremont family.

"They have given us such great care over the years and are like family. Thank you for years of compassionate and quality healthcare. It is a special place with special people."

The first priority when you or a loved one is sick or hurting is always to get help, but you should be aware of the differences between Urgent Care and the Emergency Room.

Urgent care is convenient and professional care for conditions that require quick medical attention, but are not life threatening.  Urgent care meets the patient demands of convenience and efficiency while delivering safe, high quality, cost effective medical care.

Value

Urgent Care provides quality medical care with significant cost savings over the hospital emergency department or hospital based "fast track/urgent care" unit.

Convenience

Most urgent care centers provide services on a "walk in basis" and offer extended hours in the evenings and on weekends allowing you to get medical care on your schedule.

Continuity of Care

At your request, the doctor's notes and any test results from your visit at Tremont Medical Center will be sent to your personal physician.

If you are facing a life threatening situation call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room.

These are life-threatening, critical conditions that require advanced medical attention:

  • Assault
  • Electrical shock
  • Falls greater than 6 feet
  • Head trauma
  • Heart attack
  • Infants less than 6 months
  • Infants with fever greater than 103 degrees
  • Life threatening allergic reactions

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Pregnancy complications
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe choking (cannot breathe or talk)
  • Stroke
  • Sudden blurred vision or loss of vision
  • Sudden dizziness, weakness or loss of coordination or balance

Tremont Medical Center is named for a stream in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.  In choosing this name, we have brought the spirit of that re-creative place into our healing environment.
