Don't flush that leftover medicine down the toilet!
Leftover medicine has a way of making trouble. Flushed down the drain, it pollutes lakes and rivers as well as our drinking water. Kept at home, it’s a poison risk for small kids and teens. And passed along to a family member or a friend, it encourages people to dose themselves without a prescription. None of this is good.
As a service to the community, Tremont Medical Center collects unwanted non-controlled drugs and disposes of them by taking them to Village Pharmacy of Wake Forest
(
www.villagepharmacywf.com), a participant in the "Dispose My Meds" campaign.
Keep medication in the original container. This will help identify the contents if they are accidentally ingested.
For confidentiality purposes, mark out any personal information and the prescription number.
Drop off the medication at Tremont – you can leave it with the staff member at the front desk.
