Dr. Tope, our primary urgent care physician, is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, has a Master of Science in Public Health and Toxicology, and is board certified in emergency medicine. He has 20 years experience working in various emergency departments before coming to Tremont, including serving as Director for Wake County EMS and assisting with the development of the county paramedic system. He has also taught Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Dr. Tope has been with Tremont Medical Center since 1994.
Mr. Begley is a certified physician’s assistant providing family medical care and emergency medicine. He has a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Oklahoma University and received his PA training and diploma from the US Air Force School of Health Care Science while serving in the US Army. He has been practicing for 29 years and is a member of NC Academy of Physician Assistants. Mr. Begley has been honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He has been with Tremont since 1986.
Dr. Pittman founded Tremont Medical Center in 1985 when Creedmoor Road was still a two-lane country road, there was a field across the street, and a farm behind the clinic. He served as chief physician, Medical Director, and Laboratory Director for many years, nurturing the growth and health of the clinic and its staff. He is a graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Although he is retired from active practice, he retains an active interest in Tremont.
